welcome to the official website of the wyre forest model railway club based in kidderminster, worcestershire. the club the club meets every tuesday evening from 7.00 p.m. you are welcome to come along and find out more about the club’s facilities and layouts. the club usually holds an annual exhibition in stourport around may and an open day in the club rooms in october. persons with an interest in railways are invited to visit either event. members will be on hand at both events to show you the club layouts in operation and to answer any questions you may have about the hobby. the club has a number of layouts in different gauges either operational or at various stages of construction. charity exhibition january 2019 charity exhibition supported by the mayor of kidderminster and the mayor of bewdley saturday 26th january 2019 from 10.30 to 4.30 at the town hall (corn exchange), vicar street, kidderminster, dy10 1db admission adults £3.00 accompanied children under 12 free refreshments available disabled access 9 model railway layouts plus trade support the mayor’s charities this year are the alzheimers society, dog trust and dogs for the blind which the club are very happy to support. so whilst in town why not poop into the corn exchange to give your support and also see the modelling carried out by local members. unlike channel 5 our models take longer than 24 hours to complete. open day sunday 28th october 2018 the club rooms were open to the general public from 11.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. where at least 7 club layouts were on display. this included new layouts under construction and existing layouts being extended. admission is free and light refreshments were available although donations were welcome. members were present to answer any modelling questions. we have test tracks in 3 gauges which can be operated by dc or dcc (digital) on which you are welcome to operate your own trains. there is a private car park at the bottom of comberton hill between ‘footplate’ and the ring road which you may use. exhibition saturday 12th may 2018 events listing some of our past and future events that the club is involved in. club layouts layouts in most small gauges, including ‘00’, ‘n’, ‘0-16.5’ and ‘009’. members layouts some of these layouts have been exibited around the country and won awards home page our 4th exhibition in stourport took place on the 12th may 2018 at the community centre in lower lickhill road. eleven layouts were on display in gauges '00' down to 'z' all of which were owned by the club or our members. the opening was attended by the mayor of bewdley, roger coleman (left), and his consort, john byng. a large number of children and their parents appeared to enjoy the occasion, especially as one layout was designed for the children to drive the trains themselves. a second hand stall of donated railway equipment was very popular and at least half of the proceeds will be given to the midlands air ambulance. if you missed this years show we hope to be hosting another around about the same time in 2019. more photos --
